The Light in the Dark~

Image
The dark night is giving way to the light this morning.  And for such an intense time, the sunrise this morning is so soft and colorful.  I am grateful to be up to witness the beauty and quiet of the morning.  It's amazing how nature can soften my gaze and help my heart stay focused on the good.

It's been a wild ride this year and there is a lot on my mind.  That being said,  I am hanging in there.  I have definitely felt the pull of the full moon, the powerful lunar eclipse, the craziness of Mercury retrograde and the sweetness of the winter solstice.  It's a strange brew but that is just it,  things are brewing and I feel it.  Change is on the horizon.

Even though this has been a tough time for many, myself and family included,  we have all made it this far.   There is hope.  The good news is that the fall downward always gives way to the rise upward.

For the last few weeks,  I have been thinking a lot about this year and how important it is for me to get clear on my …

This Landlady Has A Headache!

It's quiet in the house.  Liam is napping and all I hear is the hum of the refrigerator.  The cat is sitting next to me purring and staring at me in the hopes that I will stop typing and pet her.  I am glad to feel more at peace today, though,  nothing is so different today than yesterday except maybe my acceptance of my bothersome situation.

What is my bothersome situation?  Well, let me explain...

 Jason and I own a townhouse in Colorado Springs that we were not able to sell before we moved here to Tucson because the housing market turned bad.  Because we could not sell our townhouse, Jason and I decided to hang on to it and rent it out.  We have been renting out our townhouse for the last 3 years and it's been a real pain this year.  Unfortunately, we are still waiting to see rent from our current renter for November and December.  We have heard every excuse you can think of as to why the rent is not here.  It's frustrating because the renters before our current resident…

Recipe for Christmas All Year Long

Well, this is just sweet.  Enjoy!

Recipe for Christmas All Year Long
Take a heap of child-like wonder
That opens up our eyes
To the unexpected gifts in life—
Each day a sweet surprise.
Mix in fond appreciation
For the people whom we know;
Like festive Christmas candles,
Each one has a special glow.
Add some giggles and some laughter,
A dash of Christmas food,
(Amazing how a piece of pie
Improves our attitude!)
Stir it all with human kindness;
Wrap it up in love and peace,
Decorate with optimism, and
Our joy will never cease.
If we use this healthy recipe,
We know we will remember
To be in the Christmas spirit,
Even when it's not December.

Okay, so here is a collection of my status posts on facebook over this past year.  It flows pretty well and was pretty amazed by what I read.  Read and enjoy.
