"A little more persistence, a little more effort, and what seemed hopeless failure may turn to glorious success."
Elbert Hubbard
It's been well over a month since my plea for help with my son and his separation anxiety, and I am happy to share that we have made great progress.  After reading many of the suggestions and reading some of the stories you all shared, I came up with a plan.  Shortly before I posted that request for help, I had decided to give the power to Liam and told him to tell me when he felt comfortable for me and Lila to leave.  So that is where the plan began.  We then added to that two hugs, three kisses, and a special word of the day that we would say in each other's ear quietly, or loudly in Liam's case, on the count of three.  Our special word changes but here are the ones we have used: spider snake, snake spider, komodo dragon, nike and tarantula.  My stay of an hour and a half has be cut to 30 minutes max.  I would say that is great progress…
